I'm still working with images taken on our swing out to friends in Detroit and Chicago.  This one is from the Chicago Botanic Garden.  This is the original untouched file:

Why do I like this?  The dappled light, the texture in the bark, the swirls in the wood with no bark, that is why.  Obviously I need to remove the wires used to train this plant and remove the shadow in the lower left corner.  That took the image to this point:

This images says "Black and white" to me.  So into SilverEfex it went,  Once I had it where I wanted in black and white, I tried a sepia tone and fell in love.  The final product:
